Relentless Focus on Student Access and Success
IANR is working to expand need- and merit-based scholarships as well as hands-on and experiential learning opportunities through greater scholarship support, expansion of the Engler Agribusiness Entrepreneurship Program and construction of a state-of-the-art equine sports complex, among other efforts.
Enhancing Faculty and Academic Excellence
Faculty members play the most critical role in the success of IANR’s three-part mission of teaching, research and extension. Funding for endowed chairs, professorships and recruitment will support top faculty and innovative research that advance agriculture and natural resources management in Nebraska and around the world.

Transformational Research and Innovation
IANR is a global leader in agricultural research related to beef production, climate, drought, water management, food for health and precision and digital ag management, to name a few. Updated and expanded facilities and support for innovation will allow UNL to continue to lead in this increasingly competitive space.

TOP CAMPAIGN PRIORITIES
Student Success and Scholarship
In Nebraska, one in four jobs is related to agriculture and natural resources. To grow the workforce of the future, it is imperative that we recruit the best and brightest students from a wide array of backgrounds. Increasing support for both undergraduate and graduate students, as well as improving educational facilities and funding student opportunities like the Engler Agribusiness Entrepreneurship Program, will help us attract the future leaders of agriculture.
Klosterman Feedlot Innovation Center
Beef innovation has been central to the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources since its founding 50 years ago. The Klosterman Feedlot Innovation Center, currently under construction at the Eastern Nebraska Research, Extension and Education Center near Mead, will be a state-of-the-art facility where producers and industry partners can test emerging technologies in a commercial-scale feedlot, students can get hands-on experience and world-class research can thrive.
UNL Plant Growth and Phenotype Facility
This new cutting-edge facility is part of a UNL-wide initiative to supercharge scientific discovery related to precision agriculture and ag tech, and to quickly move these discoveries into the hands of farmers, ranchers and agribusiness leaders.
Equine Sports Complex
In Nebraska, more than 180,000 horses are used for leisure, competition, therapy and agricultural work, and the demand for trained professionals is growing. The Equine Sports Complex will attract students from Nebraska and beyond who are interested in equine sports, expand experiential learning opportunities and connect youth from across the state to the UNL campus.
Nebraska Food for Health Center
Agriculture feeds the world, but can it do more? The Nebraska Food for Health Center is exploring how agriculture can improve human health and prevent diseases such as cancer, diabetes and colitis through a deeper understanding of the human microbiome.

UNK College of Business and Technology
Taking Care of Business. Like Only Nebraska Can.
The College of Business and Technology provides transformational, career-focused programs dedicated to extraordinary student experiences that, in turn, drive economic development in Nebraska. We provide an accessible, nurturing environment for a diverse student body.

Relentless Focus on Student Access and Success
Workforce development is essential to Nebraska’s future. We are uniquely positioned to attract individuals from both metro and nonmetro areas. Not only do the majority of our graduates remain in Nebraska, but most also begin their careers in rural areas, making additional funding for student scholarships and support vital.
Enhancing Faculty, Academic and Clinical Excellence
One of the most important assets we have is our people. Endowed fellowships, professorships and chairs can play a significant role in attracting top talent as well as retaining and rewarding top performers. Among these positions is the need for an endowed professorship or chair to lead the new Center for Technical and Professional B2B Sales.

Transformational Research and Innovation
The college hopes to create a space to bring together the collaborative elements of its four external-facing centers — the Career Center, Nebraska Business Development Center, Nebraska Safety Center and Center for Economic Education — to positively impact students, faculty research and economic development. These efforts will include a student-managed, faculty/practitioner-guided venture fund to fuel new business innovation.

FOR THE FUTURE WE’LL BUILD
INVESTING IN OUR
SHARED VISION.
The college strives to lead the economy of the future and improve the human condition. To reach our ambitious goals, we must focus on increasing scholarship resources, building faculty support and creating educational environments that meet the needs of today’s students. Only with donor support can we make the college a driving force for economic growth.
A MESSAGE FROM LEADERSHIP
“I believe that UNK and the College of Business and Technology, in particular, play a critical role for the state of Nebraska. TOP CAMPAIGN PRIORITIES
Scholarships and Student Support
The college has proven it is effective in developing and placing its students. By focusing on student scholarships and support programs that include well-rounded experiences, we are investing in the future of Nebraska, particularly the rural areas of our state most in need of bright, enthusiastic minds.

High-quality programs are not possible without high-quality, student-focused faculty. Our teacher-scholars are often internationally respected, yet our faculty are distinguished by their passion for teaching. Attracting and retaining this talent is critical to our shared future.
Enhanced Learning and Engagement Spaces
Today’s facilities share characteristics with those of the past in that they must promote community inside and outside the classroom. However, the facilities of the future differ dramatically in terms of technology and in how they provide accessibility to diverse students near and far. The rapid pace of change means our facilities must change as well.
Rural Nebraska Hub for Entrepreneurship and Technical Sales
Creation of the Center for Technical and Professional B2B Sales will further support entrepreneurship and economic development in the state. Support for this center will allow students to gain essential experience with industry partners, travel to regional and national sales competitions and have access to state-of-the-art technology. Scholarships in this area will help the college attract and retain top students.
