Lied Center for Performing Arts

Transforming Our World Through Performance. Like Only Nebraska Can.

The Lied Center for Performing Arts educates, inspires and entertains while enriching the lives of Nebraskans through the performing arts. Your support makes it possible for us to serve the state as an arts leader and collaborator by presenting artists of great distinction from Nebraska and around the world. Your gifts also make it possible to provide students of all ages with meaningful experiences of the performing arts.

Relentless Focus on Student Access and Success

The Lied Center for Performing Arts seeks to forge stronger ties with the community through outreach programs and partnerships with local schools. We hope to provide future generations of Nebraska students with innovative educational programming and access to outstanding performances.

Enhancing Faculty and Academic Excellence

As a part of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, the Lied Center values education and research. With donor support, we plan to create the Lied Center Studio Theater. It will be dedicated to education, research and creative work, providing the perfect space for student performances, world-class premieres, experimentation and project development.

Exciting plans for expanding and renovating the Lied Center include cutting-edge technology and flexible spaces that will enhance innovation and creative research. FOR THE FUTURE WE’LL BUILD

INVESTING IN OUR
SHARED VISION.

The Lied Center was established to ensure that Nebraskans should not have to travel to New York, Chicago or Los Angeles to see the greatest artists in the world. Over the past 30 years, that vision and promise have made the Lied Center for Performing Arts one of the top 100 theaters in the world. With your help, we will continue to keep that vision alive while continually expanding the outreach and impact of the arts in Nebraska.

A MESSAGE FROM LEADERSHIP

“With your help, future generations will enjoy the finest performances the world has to offer, right here in Nebraska. We are grateful for the generosity that built the Lied Center in the 1980s and the generosity today that preserves and enhances it for tomorrow’s audiences.”

TOP CAMPAIGN PRIORITIES

Building the Future Renovation Project

Your gift can help expand and improve the Lied Center for Performing Arts to ensure the venue’s future is as bright as its past. A new four-level building addition of approximately 16,600 square feet will include a new entrance, education space, box office, green room and event space. A strategic building renovation of approximately 25,000 square feet throughout the current venue will provide a renovated lobby, improved circulation and accessibility, additional public restrooms and expanded concessions.

Attracting performers and artists from around the world

You can help bring the greatest artists and performers in the world to the Lied Center stage and Nebraska classrooms. You can be part of once-in-a-lifetime moments that light up the lives of thousands of children and adults each year through outstanding music, theater and dance.

Assisted hearing and cutting-edge technology

The Lied Center seeks to ensure each guest has the best experience possible at each event. To that end, we hope to upgrade our assisted listening devices and speaker system, making our performances easier to hear and more accessible.

Educational and community outreach

The Lied Center aims to forge stronger ties with the community through outreach programs and partnerships with local schools. Your gift can be directed toward providing future generations of Nebraska students with educational programming, world-class talent and performing arts that would otherwise be inaccessible.
