Building the Future Renovation Project 

Your gift can help expand and improve the Lied Center for Performing Arts to ensure the venue’s future is as bright as its past. A new four-level building addition of approximately 16,600 square feet will include a new entrance, education space, box office, green room and event space. A strategic building renovation of approximately 25,000 square feet throughout the current venue will provide a renovated lobby, improved circulation and accessibility, additional public restrooms and expanded concessions.

Attracting performers and artists from around the world

You can help bring the greatest artists and performers in the world to the Lied Center stage and Nebraska classrooms. You can be part of once-in-a-lifetime moments that light up the lives of thousands of children and adults each year through outstanding music, theater and dance.

Assisted hearing and cutting-edge technology

Student Success and Scholarship 

In Nebraska, one in four jobs is related to agriculture and natural resources. To grow the workforce of the future, it is imperative that we recruit the best and brightest students from a wide array of backgrounds. Increasing support for both undergraduate and graduate students, as well as improving educational facilities and funding student opportunities like the Engler Agribusiness Entrepreneurship Program, will help us attract the future leaders of agriculture.

Klosterman Feedlot Innovation Center

Beef innovation has been central to the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources since its founding 50 years ago. The Klosterman Feedlot Innovation Center, currently under construction at the Eastern Nebraska Research, Extension and Education Center near Mead, will be a state-of-the-art facility where producers and industry partners can test emerging technologies in a commercial-scale feedlot, students can get hands-on experience and world-class research can thrive. 

UNL Plant Growth and Phenotype Facility

This new cutting-edge facility is part of a UNL-wide initiative to supercharge scientific discovery related to precision agriculture and ag tech, and to quickly move these discoveries into the hands of farmers, ranchers and agribusiness leaders.

Equine Sports Complex

In Nebraska, more than 180,000 horses are used for leisure, competition, therapy and agricultural work, and the demand for trained professionals is growing. The Equine Sports Complex will attract students from Nebraska and beyond who are interested in equine sports, expand experiential learning opportunities and connect youth from across the state to the UNL campus. 

Nebraska Food for Health Center 

Agriculture feeds the world, but can it do more? The Nebraska Food for Health Center is exploring how agriculture can improve human health and prevent diseases such as cancer, diabetes and colitis through a deeper understanding of the human microbiome.

Relentless Focus on Student Access and Success

Increased scholarship support can help keep a law education affordable for students of all backgrounds. Reduced student loan debt means students can follow their passions with less regard for earning potential, leading them to careers working in government, community and nonprofit sectors, and serving rural and immigrant communities. Donor support also can enhance hands-on learning opportunities for students through clinics and externships.

Enhancing Faculty and Academic Excellence

To attract and retain the best law professors in an increasingly competitive hiring environment, the college needs to offer a greater number of chairs and professorships. Funding also can support short-term research professorships that incentivize professors to fully participate in the college’s strategic priority of solving vital societal problems.

Transformational Research and Innovation

Donors can have an impact by supporting research that explores cutting-edge areas of law. Faculty are actively engaged in research in employee benefits law, the impact of space, cyber and telecommunications law on national security and much more.

TOP CAMPAIGN PRIORITIES

Scholarships

Increased support can help the college attract the best and brightest students from around the country. This creates a more diverse student body with students from underrepresented populations, rural students, first-generation law students and military veterans, as well as students interested in advancing justice through work in public service and in the public interest.

Endowed Chairs and Professorships

Enhanced faculty support can increase opportunities for students by ensuring they have high-quality faculty and professional staff to guide them throughout their law school experience. This support also assists in recruiting scholars whose research broadens and deepens areas of expertise in the college.

Faculty Recruitment and Support

The college will use support to recruit directors for college initiatives including the Rural Law Opportunities Program, the Underserved Law Opportunities Program and the Law + Business Program. It also can fund the addition of an associate dean for diversity, equity and inclusion and a director of externships.

The University of Nebraska State Museum promotes the discovery of our natural world and world cultures through research, museum collections, learner-centered educational programs and public exhibitions. As a university-based science museum, we recruit and mentor the next generation of researchers and educators by providing university students with unique educational opportunities and by inspiring Nebraska’s youth to pursue science careers.
